Description	:	Martha S. Floyd married her first husband John Rager Mills on August 19, 1857 in Hocking Co., Ohio. Her second husband was George Starkey, whom she married October 12, 1893 in Hocking Co. She was the daughter of William Floyd and his first wife Mary Ann Allender (Dec. 10, 1810-Apr. 6, 1842). Obituary from The Athens Messenger Tuesday, March 30, 1909: "Death of Mrs. Starkey Died of Heart Trouble at Home of Her daughter this morning Mrs. Martha Mills Starkey, aged 57 years died this (Saturday) morning at about 6 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs.... Obituary from The Athens Messenger Tuesday, March 30, 1909: "Death of Mrs. Starkey Died of Heart Trouble at Home of Her daughter this morning Mrs. Martha Mills Starkey, aged 57 years died this (Saturday) morning at about 6 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Risley on Cemetery Street, where she had been living with her daughter. She had been in poor health, due to heart trouble for the past year or more and grew gradually worse until death relieved her. Medical aid was exhausted without avail and she was tenderly cared for by her children. She was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom survive her - Mrs. Risley, Will and John Mills of Athens, Dan and Gus Mills of Columbus, Jack Mills now in South America, Mrs. White of Benwood, W. Va., Mrs. Crosby of Circleville and Mrs. Cunningham of Cleveland. The funeral will be held from the residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The internment will be made in the Union Street Cemetery."
