Godfrey, 415 East Washington street. She was 89 years of age and had been failing in health for about six weeks. She leaves three daughters and one son. they are Mrs. Boyd Foster, Mrs. Elmer Wells, Mrs. J. M. Godfrey of this community, and Charles McMullen of Mt. Pleasant. MCMULLEN, AGE 89 IS DEAD Passed away at home of daughter, Mrs. J. M. Godfrey Mrs. Martha McMullen died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Godfrey, 415 East Washington street. She was 89 years of age and had been failing in health for about six weeks. She leaves three daughters and one son. they are Mrs. Boyd Foster, Mrs. Elmer Wells, Mrs. J. M. Godfrey of this community, and Charles McMullen of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. McMullen was born April 11, 1839 at Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth Beggs McCulley. On April 26, 1865, she was married to John McMullen, and they resided in Illinois until 52 years ago when they moved to Washington county, Mr. McMullen was in poor health after they moved to Iowa, and passed away in August, 1883. She was a devoted worker in the affairs of the United Presbyterian church and always lived according to the teachings of that faith. Besides her three children, she leaves one brother, John McCulley of Boliver, Missouri. All three of her children were with her at the time of her death. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Godfrey, in charge of her pastor, Rev. David C. Fulton. Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
