Dick, a veteran of the Civil war, took place at Streater, Ill., in 1867. They later moved to Iowa, and united with the Evangelical church at Grant. Mr. Dick's death occurred in 1894. A few years later, she with her family, moved to Atkinson, Neb., and from 1904, Norfolk was her home until her death. Of their eleven children, two died in infancy. Death has also taken Mrs. Belle Hardenbrook, who was buried on her birthday in 1901, Grant Dick and Mrs. Laura Raymer. The six remaining children were present at the funeral Sunday afternoon. In order of age, they are Hugh C. Dick, Norfolk, Neb.; Mrs. H. A. Bullman, Tulare, S. D.; Ben Dick, Millborn, S. D.; Mrs. Joe Kulhavy, Herrick, S. D.; Mrs. Vern Kelley, Casper, Wyo.; Harry Dick, Lead, S. D. Leon F. Hardenbrook, one of the grandsons, came from Marengo, Ia. to attend the funeral. He was accompanied by his wife. A grandson, Frank Peters from Casper, Wyo., attended the funeral, as did Clarence and Max Dick. Altogether there are twenty-eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Among the many flowers were those from the W. E. C. of which she was a member. The double quartette of the Omaha Avenue church sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder." "Face to Face" was beautifully rendered by J. C. Vaughn. These were her favorite hymns. The pastor, the Rev. H. L. Hartwell, used the fourteenth chapter of the Gospel of John because this chapter had been a joy and comfort to "Mother" Dick.
