Tanner was born April 20, 1838, in Pope county, Ills. In 1853 she was united in marriage of Thomas Crotchett. To this union fifteen children were born, nine of which, with a heart broken, husband, one sister and one brother are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother, a cheerful wife and a kind Christian neighbor. Tanner was born April 20, 1838, in Pope county, Ills. In 1853 she was united in marriage of Thomas Crotchett. To this union fifteen children were born, nine of which, with a heart broken, husband, one sister and one brother are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother, a cheerful wife and a kind Christian neighbor. They moved to Lena Valley in 1884 and have since resided here. Her last illness, though long and severe, was born with Christina fortitude and on Saturday, Feb. 11th, at 2:45 p.m., she entered "the rest that remains for the people of God." She was aged 66 years, 11 months and 16 days. Interment was made in Lena Valley cemetery Monday. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Flickinger, of whose church the deceased was a member. The sorrowing friends and relatives have the sympathy of all in his their hour of sorrow.
