McCombs, of Dayton, received word Friday morning of the death of his mother, Mrs. Martha McCombs, which occurred at 3 o'clock Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. H. Ball, in Chicago. Death resulted from cancer of the face, from which the deceased has suffered for some months. Mrs. McCombs was the widow of the late William McCombs, of Monroe, and the lager part of her life was spent in that vicinity. For the past few years she has been making her home with her daughter in Chicago. The deceased was 85 years of age. She is survived by one son, William E. McCombs, of Dayton, and two daughters, Mrs. C. H. Ball and Mrs. J. S. Gates, both of Chicago. Five grand children also survive. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Monroe church. Rev. J. W. Hanger, of Marion, will officiate and interment in Monroe cemetery.
