Description	:	Wife of Walter L. Vonasek. Funeral services for Martha Vonasek, 51, were conducted at the ZCBJ Hall in Verdigre, Wednesday afternoon of this week. The Rev. Adolph Lillich, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Creighton, officiated. Burial was in the Jelen Cemetery. Martha Prokop, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Prokop, was born Jan. 29, 1905 on a farm west of Verdigre. She passed away at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton, Sunday, May 20, after being hospitalized four days. She spent all of her life in the Verdigre vicinity. She attended grade school at Jelen and graduated from Verdigre High with the class of 1924. She attended Wayne State Teachers College and taught five years in rural schools in Knox county. She was united in marriage to Walter Vonasek, April 28, 1930 at O'Neill. To this union were born two daughters, Marion and Sharon. Martha and Walter celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary in April last year. Surviving are her husband; daughters, Marion (Raymond) Zerbe and Sharon, (Donald) Miller; two grandsons; three sisters, Irma of Verdigre, Wilma (Ben) Vonasek of Star and Sylvia of Omaha and one brother, Henry Prokop of Verdigre.
