Funeral Home in Armour. Martha Muckey was born September 8, 1925 to Lane and Grace (Vlasman) Vanden Hoek on a farm near Harrison SD. She attended country school in Douglas County. She married Ivan Muckey on March 10, 1944 near Harrison, SD. Ivan died on April 2, 1992. She was a member of Grace Reformed Church in Corsica SD. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. She worked for the state of South Dakota as a Home Health Care Provider and painted and wall papered many houses. Martha Died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society in Corsica at the Age of 88. She is survived by three children, Norma Thomson of Centerville, SD, Karen Wattier and husband, Jerry of Pierre, SD, Scott Muckey and wife, Sheryl of Corsica, SD, five grandchildren, Jamie McDowell and wife, Sue of Sioux Falls SD, Amanda Schaeffer and husband, Tim of Yankton, SD, Michelle Wattier of Waterloo, IA, Erin Muckey of Normal, IL, and Erik Muckey of Vermilion, SD, 5 Great-grandchildren, Sasha McDowell, Maya McDowell, Warrin Krull, Raina Schaeffer, and Isaac Schaeffer, and sister, Lila Adams and husband, Wayne of Mitchell, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivan, daughter Donna Riggert, four brothers, and a sister.
