Interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. ~~~~~~~ MRS. MARTHA FORMAN DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME Martha V. Forman, whose serious illness was reported in our last issue, died Friday shortly before noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. M. Damrell. She had been subject to attacks of gallstones for several years and each attack increased in severity. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. S. E. Hoover, assisted by Rev. F. R. Hollis. A tribute to the memory of the deceased was also paid by Prince Dimmitt. Interment was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mrs. Forman was one of this community's best loved characters. She was familiarly known as "Aunt Martha" to a host of friends and was admired for her kind and generous impulses. Her life has been one of arduous effort, stern endurance and uncomplaining self-sacrifice, but it has been fruitful in benefits to those among whom it has been passed. Martha Copenhaver was born August 16, 1846, in Winchester, Va., coming to Missouri with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Copenhaver, in the year 1857. From that time her residence was in Shelbyville, a period of 67 years, which is perhaps longer than anyone now living here, with one exception. Her marriage to Aaron B. Forman took place March 16, 1865, and to them two sons and five daughters were born, all of whom survive. They are: James M. Forman of this city and Marcus L. of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. F. L. Jamison, Mrs. P. E. Sanders and Mrs. E. M. Damrell of this city; Mrs. E. J. Beaulier of ElPaso, Texas, and Mrs. R. E. Marshall of Billings, Mont, all of whom were present at the funeral services except Mrs. Beaulier and the son living in California. Her husband died in 1917. Mrs. Forman was a member of the Methodist church and was one of its most active members, living a devout christian life. She was also a member of the Shelby Rebekah Lodge, in which she took an active interest. Besides the children mentioned above, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.
