She was a former board member of the Marlboro Trust Co. and served on the advisory board of the First National Bank of South Carolina for 27 years as the only female board member in the bank's system. She was a former chairman of the Marlboro Warehouse Co. She was a patron of the Marlboro Arts Council. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Martha Crosland Johnson and her husband, M.R. Jr., of Greenville, Mrs. Margaret Crosland Barnes of Spartanburg; a stepson, the Rev. Tom Gregg and his wife, Margaret, of Cary, N.C.; grandchildren, Lauren Johnson Long, Martha Elizabeth Johnson, Stephen Peeler Johnson, Lawson Paul Barnes, Edward Crosland Barnes, Margaret Barnes Pennebaker, Paul Gregg and Rowena Gregg Gibbons; and 14 great-grandchildren.
