Description	:	Martha Klaudt was 6 when she moved with her parents to Lowry, where she grew up. While married to Sam C. Klaudt, she lived in the Walker-McIntosh area until his death in 1977. Read More	Martha Klaudt was 6 when she moved with her parents to Lowry, where she grew up. While married to Sam C. Klaudt, she lived in the Walker-McIntosh area until his death in 1977. The following year, she moved to Aberdeen. The past year she was a resident at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, where she died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at the age of 95. Martha was born May 9, 1912, to Karl and Fredricka (Schilling) Vollmer in Linton, N.D. She attended rural schools while living near Lowry. Her marriage to Sam took place April 15, 1933, in Selby. While living in McIntosh, Martha was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and was active in community affairs. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens and RSVP, and played in the "Kitchen Band" for many years. Surviving Martha are two daughters, Pearl (Ken) Ivers of Brookings and Gloria Kline of Aberdeen; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Klaudt of Woonsocket; one sister, Maranda Held of Mandan, N.D.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her son Alvin, a daughter Gladys Bakker, two sons-in-law, Henry Kline and Randy Bakker, two great grandchildren and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Martha were Monday, Aug. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in McIntosh. The Rev. Richard Mayforth officiated. Martha's grandchildren were casketbearers. Burial followed at the McIntosh Cemetery. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory of Aberdeen and Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge were in charge of arrangements. Mobridge Tribune August 8, 2007
