Meyersdale Republican, March 11, 1943 ---- Death of Martin C. George COVE, MD., Mar. 16 - Martin Casper George, youngest son of the late John H. and Sivilla Diehl George, passed away very suddenly at a hospital in Akron, Ohio, four hours after being admitted as a pneumonia patient on Feb. 27. Mr. George was 49 years, 7 months of age. He was employed at the Goodrich Rubber Factory for 23 years. He served in World War I and received his honorable discharge. His body was shipped here to the home of his brother and the funeral was held on March 3, at the St. John's Lutheran Church of which he was a member before moving to Akron. Surviving are four brothers, Mahlon of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Edward, Reimersburg, Pa.; Melchor and Henry, Keyser Ridge, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Glover, Akron, O.; Mrs. Henry Bach, Accident, Md.; Mrs. George Hanft, Cove. This is the third death in this family in the past nine months, the oldest sister, Mrs. Emma Brown, 67 years of age, and her son, Pvt. Harry Brown, 34 years of age, and Martin, the youngest of the family having passed away. Meyersdale Republican, March 18, 1943
