Description	:	WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Mr. Martin C. Windus, 90, retired Muscatine County farmer, died Friday morning at the home of his daughter, Corrine Welsch, in Muscatine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at West Liberty United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Frank Schultz officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Windus, Randy Windus, Dan Windus, Brandon Welsch, Travis Welsch and Dustin Welsch. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Windus was born Jan. 21, 1911, on the Windus family farm southwest of West Liberty, where he lived and farmed all of his life. On Sept. 1, 1931, he married the former Esther Carr. He retired 20 years ago, and moved to West Liberty. He was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and his family and grandchildren. He also loved to ride in the chariot races held at West Liberty. He is survived by his son, Loren and Lucille Windus of Moscow; a daughter, Mrs. Corrine (Clay) Welsch of Muscatine; a daughter-in-law, Dolores Windus, of West Liberty; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, two sons, two daughters-in-law, one granddaughter and a great-grandson.
