Description	:	OBITUARY: Martin H. Antholz, son of J. Herman and Louise Holthus Antholz, was born on a farm just west of the Martin Luther Church on Nov. 11, 1887. He was one of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church. Shortly after his marriage, he became a member of the Martin Luther church, where he had kept his membership ever since. Antholz, son of J. Herman and Louise Holthus Antholz, was born on a farm just west of the Martin Luther Church on Nov. 11, 1887. He was one of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church. Shortly after his marriage, he became a member of the Martin Luther church, where he had kept his membership ever since. He attended country school at the Beckmann school and grew to young manhood in this same community where he was born. On Dec. 26, 1911 he was united in marriage with Lydia M. Eggers at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. E.F. Geyer. To this union were born four children. On Dec. 26, Mr. Antholz entered the hospital at Pawnee City where he passed away that same day, having reached the age of 72 years. He was preceded in death by five of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lydia, four children, Herman of Elk Creek, Albert F. of Cook, Mrs. Irvin Gerdes of Auburn and Norman of Cook: 13 grandchildren; also by three sisters, Mrs. D.J. Caspers of Auburn, Mrs. Emma Rottman of Table Rock. Mrs. C.D. Dirks of Chappell; and one brother, Dick Antholz of Johnson; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Dec. 29, at Martin Luther Church, with Rev. Richard Fruehling officiating. Pallbearers were Ernest Eggers, Ivan Behrends, LaVerne Caspers, Harvey Rottman, Alvin Antholz and Ervin Dirks. Assisting with the flowers were Mrs. Elmer Beethe and Mrs. Albert Jurgensmeier. Music was furnished by the church choir, with Mrs. Eldon Bohling, organist. Interment was made in Martin Luther Cemetery with Casey's in charge of arrangements.
