Description	:	Martin Loe was born Oct. 5,1910. He was an only child. He received his grade school education in Pleasant Valley School, District #74 in Fairview Township. He graduated from Canton High School in 1930. He was a charter member of the FF A. He played in the Fairview Band several years. Olive Larson was born at Beloit, Iowa, Jan. 27,1910. She received her grade school education in the Hill School east of Beloit. She attended Augustana Academy, Canton, five years, receiving her high school education and normal train¬ing there. He received his grade school education in Pleasant Valley School, District #74 in Fairview Township. He graduated from Canton High School in 1930. He was a charter member of the FF A. He played in the Fairview Band several years. Olive Larson was born at Beloit, Iowa, Jan. 27,1910. She received her grade school education in the Hill School east of Beloit. She attended Augustana Academy, Canton, five years, receiving her high school education and normal train¬ing there. She taught rural schools in South Dakota for six years. Martin and Olive were united in marriage Nov. 20, 1938. To their union two children were born, Richard Dean, Feb. 5, 1944, and Paul Edward, Nov. 21, 1948. Martin passed away in 1971. At the time of his death he was president of the South Dakota Nu Voice Club. The members of this club are those who lost their larynx to cancer. They are called Laryngectomees. Richard is active in the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association, serving as a member of the Board of Directors. He has been chairman of the Lincoln County Weed Board for several years. Richard graduated from Canton High School in 1962. Paul graduated from Canton High School in 1967. At the present time he is chairman of the Canton School Board, District #1. He was elected to this first three year term in 1981. With the help of the two sons and their mother, they are farming the family farm in Fairview Township. This is a third generation farm. The Loe family are members of Trinity Church of Moe Parish. (History of Lincoln County, SD 1985 page 542)
