Description	:	Services for Martin 0. Skrovig, 89, 510 W. Boone St., who died Monday evening at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital, will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Elim Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Allen will officiate with burial following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Skrovig was born July 13, 1894, at Radcliffe, the son of Ole and Torbjor Inderton Skrovig. He was reared and educated in Radcliffe, attending Capitol City Community College. He married Myrtle L. Olson Sept. 10, 1924, at Ellsworth. John Allen will officiate with burial following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Skrovig was born July 13, 1894, at Radcliffe, the son of Ole and Torbjor Inderton Skrovig. He was reared and educated in Radcliffe, attending Capitol City Community College. He married Myrtle L. Olson Sept. 10, 1924, at Ellsworth. He worked in banks in Radcliffe and Ellsworth before coming to Marshalltown in 1932. He was employed as a bookkeeper for the Marshall Canning Company for many years, as a clerk for the Railway Mail Service and at his retirement, he was a bookkeeper for Vernon Pries Insurance. Mr. Skrovig was a World War I veteran, a member of Elim Lutheran Church, where he sang for many years in the choir and was a former Deacon, and a member of Frank Louis Glick American Legion Post 46. He was a former Chaplain and funeral ceremonial unit commander in the Legion Post. He was also commander of WWI Veterans Barracks 1104 for many years and a Scoutmaster in Marshalltown for 15 years. He is survived by his widow; two children, Marlyn 0. and Donna (Mrs. Dale) Robinett, both of Marshalltown; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
