Martin was born and lived in the same house his entire life, where he farmed. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Frankfort, Kansas and a member of the Beattie Masonic Lodge No. 259, AF & AM of which he was past master. Martin was born August 18, 1915 at the Rural Marshall county farm home, Frankfort, Kansas of his parents, John W. Lucas and Evaline (Martin) Lucas. Martin was born and lived in the same house his entire life, where he farmed. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Frankfort, Kansas and a member of the Beattie Masonic Lodge No. 259, AF & AM of which he was past master. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Velma Hillis, Frankfort, Kansas and Mrs. Faye Jones, Manhattan, Kansas. He is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Padden Chapel, Thursday, January 5, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Ken Rogers officiating. Mrs. Cheryl Shepherd pianist accompanied Mrs. Lana Parthermer who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "How Great Thou Art" Serving as pallbearers were Joe Spiller, Lloyd Harmon, David Dwerkotte, David Wanklyn, Michael Studer and Lyle Lander. Burial was in Beattie Union Cemetery, Beattie, Kansas obit from Mike Kokoruda #47959536
