Marvel was predeceased by her husband Leonard John Ziebert (1987); daughter Glenda (John) Labelle; daughter Shawnee (David) Rohtenburger; sister Louise Sutherland; sister Julia Eyre; brother Jack Myre; mother Carol (Duncombe); father George Myre. Marvel was born on December 14, 1931 in Taber, Alberta. Attended school there until she was unable to finish high school and had to find work to support herself, having lost both her parents at age 14 years. She eventually met Leonard Ziebert of Taber and they were married in 1949 where they farmed. They later moved to Calgary and lived in a number of provinces over the years returning to Alberta in 1973 from Ontario. They had four children. Marvel at heart was a country girl who loved to knit, crochet, sew, play cards, dance, garden, snowmobile, camp, curl, play cribbage tournaments, follow current events, read history, watch the Blue Jays and visit with her friends and family. Marvel met Graham after her husband's passing. They enjoyed their many activities and travels together for almost 20 years. Marvel overcame many challenges in her life too numerous to mention. She excelled at everything she put her mind and prodigious energy to, was respected by all and loved by many. She finished her career as supervisor of the records department at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary. She had an abiding faith and was a generous Christian to all. Her family will never fully get over her loss, but it is a testament to her that her influence will always be a big part of who we are today. She remains a benevolent presence in all our lives. She was a selfless pillar and loving, caring guardian to all her family and cherished friends. To honour Marvel's wishes, a private celebration of life at the Taber cemetery will be held at a later date.
