She was born Marvel Olive Edna Elvia Burow on Nov. 11, 1910, at Orange Township, Douglas County, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Edna (Schultz) Burow. The family bought land at Manson in 1912, and were among the first settlers at Manson. She attended schools at Manson and was graduated from Manson High School in 1928. Read More	MARVEL KING - Tuesday - August 18, 1998 Spokane - Marvel King, 87, of Cheney, and formerly a longtime resident of Manson, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, at Spokane. She was born Marvel Olive Edna Elvia Burow on Nov. 11, 1910, at Orange Township, Douglas County, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Edna (Schultz) Burow. The family bought land at Manson in 1912, and were among the first settlers at Manson. She attended schools at Manson and was graduated from Manson High School in 1928. She then studied music at Washington State College for three years. She was an accomplished pianist and played from the age of 6 until arthritis prevented her from playing. On Dec. 20, 1933, she was married to Archie King at Wenatchee. They owned and operated an apple orchard and she resided there until the death of her husband in 1993. She was a former member of the Manson Garden Club and the Lake Chelan Rock and Mineral Club. She was also a national flower judge. Survivors include two sons, Dennis King and his wife Sandra of Coulee Dam, and Ron King and his wife Donna of Burlington; her grandchildren, Margo Schmitz and her husband Cliff of Otis Orchards, and Brad King and his wife Teri of Cheney; and great-grandchildren Charlotte, Curtis and Dennis Schmitz, and Amanda and Jackie King. Services are under the direction of Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
