Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. She was born May 13, 1926, in Bennett, Iowa, to Elwood and Emma (Bentrott) Reedy. She married Robert R. Brus on May 25, 1947, in Davenport. He died in 1978. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. She was born May 13, 1926, in Bennett, Iowa, to Elwood and Emma (Bentrott) Reedy. She married Robert R. Brus on May 25, 1947, in Davenport. He died in 1978. Mr. and Mrs. Brus farmed in rural Blue Grass until 1966. She was employed at Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years before her retirement and owned and operated Brus Insurance Agency in Blue Grass for 40 years. She was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church and Blue Grass American Legion Auxiliary. She also served on the Blue Grass Cemetery Board and Blue Grass City Council. Over the course of her life, she donated many service hours as a Girl Scout leader, a PTA member and a Veterans Hospital volunteer. Her greatest lifelong service commitment was to the American Legion Auxiliary. She held numerous offices at the unit and district level, in addition to serving as Department of Iowa president. She found great enjoyment from her many years as a volunteer in the Iowa Girls State program. Mrs. Brus enjoyed traveling, frequently with her mother, who passed away this April. She had visited six continents. She was a gifted seamstress, enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch, refinishing and caning of furniture and attending her grandchildren's activities. Memorials may be made to American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Fund or Paralyzed Veterans of America. Survivors include children and spouses, Terry and Nancy Brus, Great Falls, Mont., Linda and Michael Duffy, Davenport, Rhonda Golden, Davenport, and Marsha and David Ashby, Davenport; a daughter-in-law, Birsen Hopper, Victorville, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Leroy Reedy, Davenport, Harold Krenz, Unionville, Mo., and Russell Krenz, Las Vegas; and a sister, Sharon Winters, Moline.
