Marvin Francis Bultena was born on a family farm south of Lennox, SD, on May 1, 1926, the son of John M. and Bertha (Smit) Bultena. He attended Bennett Country School through the eighth grade. Read More	Marvin Bultena, 92, of rural Lennox, SD, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center, Lennox, SD. Marvin Francis Bultena was born on a family farm south of Lennox, SD, on May 1, 1926, the son of John M. and Bertha (Smit) Bultena. He attended Bennett Country School through the eighth grade. Enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1945, Marvin served on the USS Wyoming and was honorably discharged in July of 1946. On April 3, 1947, Marvin was married to Marie Nordmann in Lennox, SD, a marriage that lasted 70 years and 8 months. He retired in 1985 from John Morrell and Company after working for 39 years. He continued to live in the house in which he was born and "farming" until July of 2018. Marvin enjoyed many things, especially outdoor activities, but mainly he just enjoyed life, as exhibited by his happy, patient and positive outlook. His wife Marie, son Michael and parents preceded Marvin in death. He is survived by sons: Matthew (Mona) Bultena, Lennox and Marlin (Susan) Bultena, Davis; five grandchildren: Jeni McNamara, Jamie Cheng, Dillion Bultena, Michelle Keller and Angela Creager; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends.
