He was born October 19, 1925 in Howard County southwest of Wolbach, Nebraska. Marvin attended rural schools in Howard and Greeley counties to the 8th grade. Marvin was the son of George E. and Lillian Mae (Jacobs) Christensen. He was born October 19, 1925 in Howard County southwest of Wolbach, Nebraska. Marvin attended rural schools in Howard and Greeley counties to the 8th grade. He then attended Wolbach High School where he graduated in 1943. After he completed his schooling, he worked with his father for a year. Marvin entered in the U.S. Army in 1944 serving in Germany. After receiving his discharge in 1945, he returned home to farm. Marvin was united in marriage to Joan Pedersen on February 18, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. The couple farmed near Wolbach. Marvin also had a dairy farm, did custom corn shelling, and trucked. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of St. Paul, Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul, was a charter member of the Wolbach Saddle Club to which he belonged for over 50 years and a member of the Central Nebraska Antique Tractor Club of St. Paul. He served on the Farmer's Union Board for 9 years and the Wolbach Elevator Board for over 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Nebraska. The Reverend Carolyn Hellerich as officiator. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, Nebraska with military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul, Nebraska.
