He was born June 22, 1916 in Ottumwa to James and Bertha Cohenour Greene. He married Margaret Gruwell August 24, 1946. Surviving is his wife, Margaret; a son, Stephen Greene of Ottumwa; a daughter, Debra (Lance) O'Brien of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Michael (Kari Cappell) Greene, Trevor Greene, Shannon (Ken) Murphy, Kristin (Rex) Bair; 6 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; a brother Charles (Joan) Greene of Ottumwa; a sister, Junella Miller of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Frank, Arthur and Rev. Merle Greene. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Nortgate Alliance Church or Hospice, P.O. Box 1150, Ottumwa, IA 52501
