Read More	Marvin Edward Schuett January 27, 1925 ~ January 24, 2010 Marvin Schuett, age 84, of Ida Grove, Iowa, died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa, under the direction of Christensen-Huffman Funeral Homes. The Reverend Richard Salcido will officiate, with burial in the Ida Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by McNamara-Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion. Born January 27, 1925, in Ida Grove, Iowa, Marvin Edward Schuett was the son of Peter and Lena (Schumacher) Schuett. He grew up and received his education in Ida Grove, then served in the United States Army during World War II. Following his tour of duty, Marvin returned to Iowa and worked with his father in the family painting business. On January 26, 1947, he married Elaine Johnson in Sioux City, Iowa. Marvin and Elaine moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1957, where Marvin worked for five years painting engines for Burlington Railroad Company. He then accepted employment with Frontier Airlines as an aircraft technician, retiring in the mid-80's. He and Elaine made their retirement home in Hawaii for four years, then returned to Iowa when Elaine's health failed. Elaine passed away in 1994. Marvin married Dorla (Douglas) Nolan on July 19, 1997, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. Marvin was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. He volunteered at church and for the Orphan Grain Train, and also was a member of the American Legion. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making countless bird houses and feeders. He loved meeting his friends each morning for coffee and conversation. Survivors include his wife, Dorla; four children, Linda (Robert) Pastore of Lakewood, CO, David (Michele) Schuett of Aurora, CO, Steven (Lea) Schuett of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Stewart Schuett of Holstein; two step-children, David (Dawn) Nolan of Sioux City, and Holly (Malcolm) Fleming of Gilbert, AZ; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Burnette Krohnke of Denison, and Velma Smith of Ida Grove; a sister-in-law, Mildred Schuett of Ida Grove; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
