Description	:	Oct 12, 1998 - Carroll Daily Times - A funeral service for Marvin Eugene Sayre of Scranton will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton. Mr. Sayre, 71, died of a heart condition Friday, Oct., 9, 1998, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Pastor Bob McKnight of Scranton Church of Christ will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Doug Squibb, John Loeffler, Ron Loeffler, Tim Pound, Chester Waldo and Vic Eslick. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Tuesday, A son of Walter and Myrtle (Seaman) Sayre, he was born Nov. 26, 1926, at Churdan and attended Scranton schools. Mr. Sayre, a veteran of the Koren Conflict, worked at Parker Manufacturing Co. in Jefferson, Sesker Milling and Osmundson Manufacturing in Perry. He was also a night watchman for Pound Construction Co. Mr. Sayre had been hospitalized since Sept. 11. He was a member of Church of Christ in Scranton. Survivors include five brothers: Carl Sayre and his wife, Louise, of Ames, Howard Sayre and his wife, Audry, of Orville, Calif., Bernard Sayre and his wife, Frieda, of Jefferson, Robert Sayre and his wife, Gerene, of Concord, Calif., and Dale Sayre and his wife, Kay, of Jefferson; and a sister, Ruth Ann Joy, and her husband, Larry, of Jefferson. Mr. Sayre was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jim and Morris; and a sister, Lois Woolsey.
