K. Warrick, Jr., reported. Warrick said the car, with the lights burning, was found at 10 p.m., by Gering police. They could see the man inside with blood on his clothes, and they called the sheriff's deputy. Warrick said all four doors of the car, which belonged to Mr. & Mrs. Adolph Ulmer, parents of the boy, were locked, and he was forced to break a glass to gain entrance. Ulmer sat in the seat, almost upright. He had apparently braced the butt of the shotgun against the door on the right hand side and pointed it directly against his chest over his heart, reaching across the barrel of the gun to pull the trigger. He apparently died instantly. W. H. Kirwin, assistant county attorney, investigated the background of the death and said he found the boy had quit school and had been working in the Gering sugar factory, but had quit his job there, at the same time trying to make his parents believe he was still working there. When his father found he had left the job he told the boy he felt he should leave the family car at home. A note was found with the body which in effect said, "Well, here's the car, the keys are in it." ###
