Marvin was born September 21, 1937, the son of Henry and Hilda (Bahlmann) Leisinger in Waverly, Iowa. Read More	Marvin Henry Leisinger, 74, of Denver, Iowa, died early Monday morning, October 17, 2011 at the Harmony House Care Center, Waterloo, Iowa. Marvin was born September 21, 1937, the son of Henry and Hilda (Bahlmann) Leisinger in Waverly, Iowa. He was baptized October 13, 1937, and confirmed April 6, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. He graduated from Shell Rock High School in 1956. After high school he continued to work as a farm hand and for Epley Seed Company in Shell Rock. He then went to work at the Marshall Canning Company in Waverly where he met his future wife, LuAnn. Marvin then went to work at Deike Implement in Waverly. On August 3, 1958, he was united in marriage to LuAnn Foelske at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver. It was also in 1958 when he began working at John Deere in Waterloo. Marvin was also active in farming during this time. Upon retiring from John Deere in 1992, Marvin remained active in his farming operation until ill health forced him to hire out the work in the fall of 2002. Marvin was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver. Family was very important to Marvin and he always stressed the need for his family to stick together in good times and bad. He was known to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need. Marvin enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things in and around the farm. He played baseball in his younger years and enjoyed most sports on TV, especially NASCAR, NFL football, college football (Iowa Hawkeyes, U.N.I. Panthers, and Iowa State Cyclones), and the NBA. He is survived by two sons; David Leisinger of Denver, Alan (Kendra) Leisinger of Ankeny, two daughters; Julie Leisinger of Oelwein, Nancy Dryer of Denver, six grandchildren; Madisyn, Amber, Johnathan, Marissa, Cameron, and Aidan Leisinger, two sisters; Rosalie Nystrom of Oelwein, Velda (Dick) Dreesman of Waverly, two sisters-in-law; Darlene (Lawrence) Knief of Waverly, Andrea (Bob) Musselman of Ft. Collins, Colorado, two brothers-in-law; Ron (Melodie) Foelske of Janesville, Duane (Sandy) Foelske of Waverly, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife LuAnn, daughter Janice Dryer, and brother, LaVern Leisinger. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver with burial in the church cemetery.
