He was born August 31, 1932, to John C. and Esther (Schlotterbeck) Eis in Holgate. Marvin graduated from Holgate High School in 1950. In 1952-55 he honorably served his country with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was employed by Chrysler in Perrysburg for 30 years retiring in 1998. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by a daughter, Peg (Tim) McDonald, Defiance; sons, Marty Eis of Liberty Center and Marc (Jen) Eis, San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren, Scott (Beth) Smiddy, Casey McDonald, John Eis and Clara Eis; sisters, Jeanette Brink and Donna Curtis, both of Holgate, Ruth Okuley of Ottawa, and Betty Guelde, Summerfield, Fla.; and a brother, John Eis, Winterpark, Fla. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Shorts and Karen Meyer. His Farewell Services... Friends and family will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Marvin's funeral will be on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Susan St. Peter officiating. Burial will follow in Cole Cemetery.
