Marvin Lee Vorseth was born Dec. 16, 1931, to Selmer and Marjorie (McLain) Vorseth on his grandparents' farm 3 1/4 miles west of Bryant. He attended Washington Country School 42 and graduated from Bryant High School in 1950. He then started farming west of Bryant. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Aug. 27, 1952. He served two years until being discharged Aug. 26, 1954. He returned to the Bryant area to resume farming. He married Deloris Kenny Sept. 17, 1960. The couple farmed together west of Bryant until 1992. At this time, he began working for Farmers Union Co-op in Bryant until his retirement. His wife died Nov. 25, 1998, and he continued to live on the farm until the time of his death. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Church Of Christ in Bryant where he was a life-long member. He served many times as trustee and deacon. He was also a member of the Bryant American Legion for 54 years. Survivors include his children Jeff Vorseth of Bryant, Dawn (Mark) Narloch of Fargo, N.D., and David (Dawn) Vorseth of Marysville, Kan.; two sisters, Barbara (Vernon) Benson of Grandville, Mich., and Shirley (Don) Tobias of Phoenix; and one granddaughter.
