Read More	Marvin Lloyd Gilbert, died on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Blue Hill Care Center in Blue Hill, Nebraska. Marvin was born on August 18, 1941 in Kimball, Nebraska to Lloyd and Ruby (Bloomfield) Gilbert. As he grew up, he helped his dad in the fields and worked cattle and hogs. He started working for farmers and ranchers around the Minden area in his teen years. He enjoyed working the land, helping to raise livestock and socializing with family and friends. He drove heavy equipment and did land leveling for many years. Marvin was a tireless worker and put in many hours for the benefit of his employers. Church was important to him, as was his hometown church, the Christian Church, Minden, Nebraska. On May 9, 1964, Marvin married Rosalyn Schmidt in Hastings and to this union four children were born, Christi, Douglas (who died in infancy), Joy and Gary. Later, Marvin married Joan Grabowski and to this union was born a son, Allen. Marvin also had a stepdaughter, Sara. Marvin's health began to fail in the last few years but he continued to do as much as he could for himself and others. He loved being with his family and spending time watching rodeos, car races, going to fairs, tractor pulls and livestock exhibitions. Survivors are: sons, Gary Gilbert of Boston, Massachusetts and Allen Gilbert of Ainsworth, Nebraska; daughters, Christi Gilbert of Hastings, Nebraska, Joy Shipman and special friend, Kenny Adams of Hastings, Nebraska and Sara Gilbert of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Steve Bonham, Wesley Shipman, Matthew Shipman, Brandon Gilbert and Dalton Gilbert; brother, Donald Gilbert & wife, Judy of Minden, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Marvin is preceded in death by: parents and son, Douglas Gilbert. Burial was in Minden Cemetery, Minden, Nebraska.
