Read More	Marvin "Marv" Lowell Green August 7, 1934 ~ December 5, 2017 Marvin was born August 7, 1934, in a small, two-room stone house in Danbury, Nebraska, to Shelby Cleith and Cleo (Darling) Green. Marvin grew up on the family farm and graduated from Danbury High School in 1952. Marvin was an excellent athlete, lettering in football, basketball and track. He won the Class D State Championship gold medals in the low and high hurdles his senior year. Marvin also loved to fly, purchasing a share of his first airplane while a senior in high school and then taking flying lessons. He became the youngest licensed pilot in Nebraska at age 16. He actually obtained his pilot's license BEFORE his driver's license. He got to enjoy flying a few non-solo flights as "co-pilot" in just the past 8 years! Marvin met his future "bride", Laura Waterman, at the age of 15. They were married at the Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, Nebraska, on June 17, 1956. God abundantly blessed their love and devotion to each other, granting them 61 years together. God also blessed them with three children: Timothy (September 1957), Diane (April 1960) and Philip (December 1961). Marvin attended the University of Nebraska College of Law from August 1952 - May 1956, also serving as a member of the Army ROTC. He earned a bachelor's degree in June 1956, entered the U.S. Army Reserves as a First Lieutenant, and started the Masters of Law program in the fall of 1956. In June 1957, his Army Reserves unit was called to Active Duty. Marvin and Laura, expecting their first child, moved to Augusta, Georgia, where Timothy was born. Marvin served his country full-time at Fort Gordon until December 1957. Upon returning to Lincoln, Nebraska, Marvin rejoined the Masters of Law program in August 1958. He earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1959 from the University of Nebraska College of Law. During his career, Marvin sold insurance for The MidWest Life Insurance Company, practiced Family Law with his brother, Robert Green, worked for J. Edward Connelly Associates, and for a custom gameboard marketing company. During these years, Marvin and Laura lived in Nebraska, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio and California, finally settling in the Loveland, Colorado, area. Marvin actively demonstrated his faith and hope in Jesus and his love for God's people by faithfully serving in Bible-teaching churches wherever he lived. Marvin greatly loved the people of the following churches, and appreciated and benefited from the preaching of these pastors: Presbyterian Church of the Cross, Omaha, NE, Dr. Ralph Gerber; Indian Hills Community Church, Lincoln, NE, Dr. Gil Rugh; Grace Bible Church, Springfield, OH, Rev. Marv Wiseman; Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, CA, Dr. John MacArthur; Loveland Bible Church, Loveland, CO, Rev. Chuck Goddard and Rev. Charles Williams. Marvin enjoyed serving the church family at Loveland Bible Church as an elder and Treasurer, Bible study teacher, prayer warrior, and fill-in preacher. His faithful service and selfless devotion to others has been, and will continue to be, a great example and encouragement to his earthly family, his church family, believers around the country, people he helped wherever he lived, and all who knew him. He will be forever remembered by all who were blessed to meet and know him as a quick-witted constant jester, a "kidder" who always enjoyed a great laugh with those around him! With his constant devotion to learning more of the English language, and most fondly referred to as our "Webster", he loved words and took pleasure in introducing the most unusual of them into his speech or letter writing in order to spark the curiosity of those he touched! Marvin Lowell Green, 83, laid aside his earthly body on December 5, 2017, and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Left with memories are his wife, Laura Green, of Milliken, CO; children, Timothy (Kimbra) Green of Omaha, NE, Diane Struppler of Johnstown, CO, and Philip (Karen) Green of Blair, NE; brother Robert Green of Omaha, NE; and seven grandchildren: Jonathan (Chantelle) Green of Omaha, NE; Daniel (Laura) Green of Gretna, NE; Paul Vanderheiden of Loveland, CO; Leah (Casey) Dunn of Loveland, CO; Bethany Green of Lincoln, NE; and Hannah Green and Sarah Green of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has been completed. Services to be held in January. As they grieve their loss of Marv on this earth, the family is rejoicing that Marv has ended his battle with cancer and is now in the eternal presence of his Savior. Please be praying for comfort that only the Lord can provide, and especially for Marv's wife Laura, as she adjusts to life without her husband of 61 blessed years.
