Thompson Sept. 11, 1940-May 5, 2005 Marvin O. THOMPSON, 64, of 1107 E. 50 South, Winamac, died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac. Born on Sept. 11, 1940, in Tipton, he was the son of Elvin and Hazel B. Bilby Thompson. An accountant, he was married to Marsha Chaney in 1962. She died in 1966. He then married Linda Rager in 1967. She died in 1979. He married Beverly Carr in 1982. Marvin was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winamac and was the finance chairman of the church. He had recently become a lay minister. Marvin was a frequent volunteer of his time and talents to both his church and to his community. He was a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He worked as an accountant for Sonoco Products Co. and at the Akron Exchange State Bank in Akron, Ind. Marvin was an Archway sales distributor while living in Akron. Marvin had also worked at Winamac Lumber and at Link Environmental Equipment Co. in Winamac. Marvin took great pride in having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was treasurer of the Winamac Aero Modelers Club; Marvin loved building and flying his model airplanes. He was instrumental in the development of the Aero Modelers Club. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Thompson, Winamac; daughter, Melinda "Mindy" (William) Hyden, Silver Lake; sons, Miles (Julie) Thompson, Selma, Ala., and Matthew (Wendy) Thompson, Goshen; six grandsons, one great-grandson; and one sister, Donna Suite, Tipton. He was preceded in death by his sister, June Ingels, and two former wives, Marsha Thompson and Linda Thompson. His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Spring St., Winamac. Burial will be Monday at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Frain Mortuary, 305 E. Main St., Winamac, and one hour prior to his service Monday at the church.
