Description	:	Marvin Wayne Medhus was born on March 5, 1925 in Gilman, Iowa, the son of Oliver and Grace Bender Medhus. He was raised and educated in Gilman, graduating from the Gilman High School. On May 20, 1944, he was united in marriage to Norma Adeane Triplett in the Bethany United Methodist Parsonage in Marshalltown, Iowa. Following their marriage he joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. Read More	Marvin Wayne Medhus was born on March 5, 1925 in Gilman, Iowa, the son of Oliver and Grace Bender Medhus. He was raised and educated in Gilman, graduating from the Gilman High School. On May 20, 1944, he was united in marriage to Norma Adeane Triplett in the Bethany United Methodist Parsonage in Marshalltown, Iowa. Following their marriage he joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. After his discharge he returned to the Gilman area where he farmed and sold farm equipment for Ahrens until his retirement in 1985. He initiated low income housing projects for the residents of Gilman and was a member of the Gilman Lions Club (District Governor), the Gilman United Church of Christ, and was a 4-H Leader. Marvin Wayne Medhus, 81, passed away Friday; November 24, 2006 in Toledo; Tama County, Iowa. Marvin is survived by wife: Norma Medhus of Toledo; children: Gary (Pam) Medhus, Sondra (Roger) Patterson, and Terry (Lorna) Medhus, all of Gilman; Brett Medhus of Reinbeck; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services were held at: 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, at our Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Cremation rites were performed. Visitation times were from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday at our Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Marshalltown. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
