Funeral services were held at the Assumption church at 9:30 Monday morning. The very Rev. J.G. Murtagh officiated. The pallbearers were John and Theodore Gappa, Joe Kleigl, Jr., W. H. J Steiner, Ed Gorman and John Andre. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Miss Mary A. Bradley was born at Watertown, Wis., Feb. 9, 1863,* hence was over 68 years of age at the time of her death. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bradley of Vernon Township, who came to this county with their family in 1872 and subsequently making Palo Alto county their home. Mary grew to womanhood. On Oct. 2, 1881, she united in marriage with Ed Cahill who died in 1898. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cahill, one son Ed died some years ago. A daughter, Virgie, died in 1918. The other son, John survives his parents and lives in this city. Mrs. Cahill was a woman of unusual strength of character and was exceptionally capable. After her husband died she took up the work of nursing, and gave splendid satisfaction to all whom she served. Her service was always in demand. Of late years she was not well and could not continue to carry on her work. She was mild, kind, conciliatory and made many friends. She was a thoroughly good woman, a good Christian and devout catholic. She was earnest and sincere, and followed the dictates of conscience in all she did. Besides her son, she is survived by four brothers and five sisters. The brothers are Michael R. and Ben of his county, George who lives in Florida, and Tom now in California. The sisters are Mrs. L. Briggs, of this city, Mrs. John Mahan of Graettinger, Mrs. Will Currans of Ruthven, Mrs. M.D. Littleton of Oakes, N.D., and Mrs. John Brennan who resides in California.
