Description	:	Horry Herald April 24, 1902 Sister Mary Jones was born in Horry County SC, July 10th 1838, and died March 7th 1902. She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church early in life but was not converted until during the pastorate of Bro. W. A. Wright since then she has lived a consistent life. A number of years ago her brother, W. H. Jones, with whom she lived, had the misfortune to lose his wife, hence the care and responsibility of his children fell upon her shoulders and she performed it well, for it seemed to delight for her to plan and work... She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church early in life but was not converted until during the pastorate of Bro. W. A. Wright since then she has lived a consistent life. A number of years ago her brother, W. H. Jones, with whom she lived, had the misfortune to lose his wife, hence the care and responsibility of his children fell upon her shoulders and she performed it well, for it seemed to delight for her to plan and work for their welfare, often staying at home in order that they might go to church and elsewhere. The love of the children was exhibited towards her during her sickness and at the burial. For about a year she suffered with a broken ankle which causes her to walk on crutches, or which was still worse with her knee on a chair. No doubt this affliction worked out for her far more exceeding the eternal weight glory. She was very thoughtful and kind to her pastor. T. B. Reynolds
