Lyons was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin, April 11, 1855, and died at the home of her son, Enoch Osborn, May 11, 1933 on his farm southwest of Battle Creek. She was 78 years, and 1 month old at the time of death. She moved with her parents as a small child to Iowa and later to Omaha, Nebraska. From Omaha the family went to Pike's Peak, Colorado, where she resided five years then returned to Douglas county, Nebraska. She was married to Troy C. Osborn in 1873 at Elkhorn (Nebr.), and came to Madison county with her husband. They spent many years on the home place nine miles southwest of Battle Creek. They then farmed near Tilden, moving in 1918 to Battle Creek, where she lived since then. A short service was held at the home of Enoch Osborn, with funeral services conducted by Rev. W. A. Rominger at the Methodist church in Battle Creek on Sunday at 2:30, attendance was so large not all could be admitted to the church. Interment was made in the family lot at Union cemetery. Mrs. Osborn is survived by three sons, Thomas Lee, Frank and Enoch, and one daughter, Mrs. Feils L. (Alice) Boyer of Mullen. There are six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
