Description	:	March 1, 1936 - Winston-Salem Journal: Mrs. M.M. Ring Will Be Buried in Yadkin Last rites for Mrs. Mary Magdeline Ring, 84, who died here Saturday morning will be conducted Monday afternoon at the home on Ansonia street at 1:30 o'clock and at White Oak Limb Baptist Church in Yadkin county at 3 o'clock. The services will be in charge of Rev. Moody Nifong. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. Mrs. Ring came here from Yadkin county in 1927. ---------- Note: In 1870, a presbytery from Union Grove Baptist Church met at a log schoolhouse known as White Oak Limb, which stood across the road from the present church, forming a congregation that met for 18 years as "White Oak Limb Baptist Church." In 1886, Isaac Columbus Poindexter gave one acre of land (now part of the church cemetery). In 1888, a new one-room church was built and the name was changed to Friendship. The old White Oak tree for which the school and church were named stood until the 1970s when the parking lot was paved. According to local lore, one of the sturdier limbs of the tree was used for the execution of criminals prior to the Civil War.
