Read More	Clarinda Herald Journal (Clarinda, Iowa), Thursday, February 10, 1938 Mrs Bashore, 81, Dies in Omaha Old-Time Siam Woman Suffered Illness Several Months Siam (Special) – Mrs Mary Bashore, aged 81 years, died at the home of her only daughter, Mrs Roy Singleton, in Omaha, Nebr. Tuesday after a serious illness which she endured for the last several months. She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Marshall and was born and reared in Siam. Her husband, William Bashore, died on September 27, 1934, and all other members of her immediate family have passed on. She was a member of the Christian church at Siam and was faithful in her work and leaves to mourn her loss a number of friends and relatives. Mrs Bashore had been ill since early last fall and around Thanksgiving time suffered a stroke of paralysis from which time on she was unable to speak a word. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Siam Christian church with Rev C Max Buck of the Bedford pastorate in charge and burial will be in the Siam cemetery beside her husband. Mrs. Bashore suffered a stroke several weeks ago and had been failing in health since. The funeral services were held at the Church of Christ in Siam this afternoon and burial was in the Siam cemetery. Bashore, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the home of her daughter in Omaha, were held Thursday afternoon at the Church of Christ in Siam, where in early girlhood she obeyed her Savior's commands. Mrs. Bashore was aged 81 years, 8 months and 28 days. Her husband, Wm. Bashore, passed away Sept. 27, 1934. She is survived by her only child, Mrs. Roy Singleton [Edna Lois] and Mr. Singleton of Omaha. Mrs. Bashore numbered her friends by her acquaintances, which her grand Christian character had won and kept for her. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. C. Max Buck of Bedford. Burial was in the Siam cemetery.
