Description	:	Mrs. Mary A. Mead died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. L.L. Milton on Tuesday , February 25, at 11 a.m. At the advanced age 80 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was born in Binghamton, NY, April 7, 1821, and was married to Edward Mead in New York state in 1839. Together they removed to Illinois in 1852 where Mr. Mead died. Mead died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. L.L. Milton on Tuesday , February 25, at 11 a.m. At the advanced age 80 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was born in Binghamton, NY, April 7, 1821, and was married to Edward Mead in New York state in 1839. Together they removed to Illinois in 1852 where Mr. Mead died. In 1868 Mrs. Mead with her children removed to Wayne county locating on a farm near New Zion church. From this union there were five children, the oldest dying in infancy, the others still living as follows: Mrs L.L. Milton, A.G.Mead and W.F. Mead in Wayne county and Mrs. F.I. Niles, of Freeport, I'll. The first three we present at the funeral. She joined the Congregational church at the age of 16 but after coming to Wayne county and the being no church of her choice she united with the M.E. church and was a conscientious Christian up to the time of her death. Mrs. Mead was a kind, loving mother and vey highly respected wherever known. She leaves a sister, Mrs. A.A. Barber, four children and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at New Zion church conducted by Rev. Tenant of Cambria, after which her remains were followed to their last resting place in Corydon cemetery by a large number of loving relatives and friends.
