Quinn, who leaves to mourn, besides her devoted husband, three small children, Francis Curtis, four, Wm Eugene, two, and a babe in arms, Dorothy Ann, six months. Mrs. Quinn was taken acutely ill six weeks ago and grew steadily worse despite the careful attention of her physician and husband. Friday, Oct. 7, on the recommendation of the attending physician she was taken to Iowa City for special treatment to which she failed to respond and on Thursday morning, Oct. 13, her spirit fled, as a fleeting shadow, into the Great Beyond. Mary Agnes Conley was born March 13, 1898 at Madison, S.D., and spent her childhood at that place. She was united in marriage February 20, 1928 at Flandreau, S.D. to Mr. A.C. Quinn, coming to this community March 1, 1929, where they took up their residence on a far southwest of Whittemore. To his union was born three children all of whom survive, the youngest being a little daughter Dorothy Ann, but six month of age. Besides her devoted husband, who has been left the task of being both father and mother to the tree small children, she leaves to mourn her passing six brothers and a sister, also a step-son, Lester Ellsworth Quinn, who also feels deeply the passing of the one he called "Mother". The funeral was held October 15, from the Methodist church in Whittemore with the Rev. Allen Wood, officiating. Pallbeares were John Kollasch, Joe Fogarty, Joe Laubenthal, Francis Foley, Daniel Foley and Walter Vaudt, and the remains were interred in the Methodist cemetery at Whittemore. Attending the funeral were hosts of friends and relative some from as far away as Illinois and South Dakota. During their residence here Mr. and Mrs. Quinn made many friends, and the sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved, father and the children who are too young to fully realize the tragedy that has befallen them. No one can explain (only God knows) why a young and devoted mother, such as Mrs. Quinn, should be called from this life. She was sorely needed here but the question will be answered when we behold the Heaven mansion where perhaps she was called thither to help prepare for her loved ones.
