The daughter of Carl and Ida (Dedlow) King was born January 27, 1917 in Creighton and died Saturday, April 17, 1993 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton. The daughter of Carl and Ida (Dedlow) King was born January 27, 1917 in Creighton and died Saturday, April 17, 1993 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton. She graduated from St. Ludger Academy in 1936 and on October 12, 1937 she married Joseph H. Neyens at Creighton. They farmed northwest of Creighton. Her husband died December 2, 1987. She was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church and it women's organization and the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include sons and spouses, Lawrence and Betty of Matthews, NC and Robert and Carolyn Neyens of Winnetoon; daughters and spouses, Elizabeth and Omer Lathan of Sun City, AZ, Madonna Vice of Creighton and Larita and Robert Rayer of Wood River; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Hoferer of Creighton and Mrs. Robert (Ida) Liska of Verdigre. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, a daughter in infancy, two grandchildren and a son-in-law. ...The Creighton News 21 April 1993 ******** King--Neyens At a nuptial mass at St. Ludger Catholidc church on Tuesday morning at 6 o'clock occurred the marriage of Miss Mary Agnes King and Joe Neyens. Father Windolph presided at the ceremony in the present of relatives of the contracting parties. They were attended by Miss Jennie Neyens, sister of the groom and James King, brother of the bride. A wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the home of the bride's parents west of Creighton. Mrs. Neyens wore a dress of mahogany color, trimmed in gold and a wine hat and brown shoes. The maid of honor was attired in a wine colored dress and wore green accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Neyens have spent their entire life in this community. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl King and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Neyens. They received their education at St. Ludger Academy and both are graduates of that school. The newlyweds left Tuesday afternoon for LeMars, Ia., where Mr. Neyens has employment on a farm and they will make their home there for the present. ...The Creighton News 14 Oct 1937
