Description	:	Mary Alice Miller departed her earthly existence to join the Lord on Dec 18th, 2010 in Mesa, AZ. She passed on peacefully following complications associated with celiac disease of the small bowel. Mary was the 11th child born March 1, 1929 in Springview, Nebraska to William "Billy" Kurzenburger and Cora Ann Pettit. Following the death of Cora Petit Kurzenburger on Aug 24th, 1929. Mary was raised and adopted by Billy's sister Louisa Kurzenberger Fechner and husband Carl Fred Fechner. Mary was the 11th child born March 1, 1929 in Springview, Nebraska to William "Billy" Kurzenburger and Cora Ann Pettit. Following the death of Cora Petit Kurzenburger on Aug 24th, 1929. Mary was raised and adopted by Billy's sister Louisa Kurzenberger Fechner and husband Carl Fred Fechner. They lived in Stanton, NE and had two sons: Albert of Bethesda, MD and Herbert of Syracuse, NE. Following high school graduation at Stanton High School, she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University prior to marrying Willis Herman Miller. In 1969, they moved to Fremont, NE and started vacation trips to Mesa in the 70s which became increasingly longer until permanent relocating in 1988 following Willis's retirement from Liquid Feed Commodities which he previously founded. They subsequently purchased a home in Pinetop, AZ and moved there during the summers. They have two sons: Stuart who resides in Oklahoma City, OK and Brad and wife Carol living in Bristol, TN. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Willis on May 25th, 2004 and both brothers. Willis and Mary were very active playing golf, bridge and other card clubs, dancing, tennis and other events. They enjoyed extensive traveling with friends and family. Following the death of her husband, Mary continued an energetic and enthusiastic lifestyle that was an inspiration to us all. She was very involved with her church including small groups, ushering, volunteer activities, and worshiping her Lord and Savior at Victory Lutheran Church in Mesa and Church of Our Savior in Show Low, AZ. Mary had a very positive impact on all around her and will be deeply missed by her many dear friends and family. It is hard to believe she is gone from our presence but it was time for God to call her to her eternal home. Arizona Memorial services will be held at Victory Lutheran Church at 5846 E. University Dr. in Mesa, AZ on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM.. Memorials can be sent to Sunshine Acres Childrens Home located at 3405 N.
