Description	:	Mary Ann Hodapp, daughter of Chrecentia and Melchior Hofer, was born June 29, 1857 at Shannon, Illinois. On February 21, 1878 she was united in marriage to Wendelin Hodapp at Shannon, Illinois and to this union eleven children were born, five children, Delphine, (Anna) Sr. M. Carissa, Marie, Joseph and William, preceded her in death. Following their marriage they lived in Shannon, for 5 years. On February 21, 1883 they came to Iowa where they farmed, moving to Westphalia in 1911. She is survived by three sons, Frank, Bernard and George; three daughters, Rose, Eleanor and Sister M. Antonita from Deane, Wisconsin; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchld. Mrs Hodapp was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic church for 68 years. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Mrs Hopp passed away January 5, 1951 at her home in Westphalia, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 6 days. She had been in poor health for the past 15 years, death due to old age. Funeral services were held Monday, January 8 at the St. Boniface church in Westphalia. The Rev. H.E. Duren celebrated the requiem high mass with M. Schiltz as Deacon and Rev. Peter Schmitz, sub-deacon. Father Duren gave the sermon. Burial was in the St. Boniface cemetery at Westphalia. Pall bearers were Raymond and Leonard Rosmann, Leo and Merlin Hodapp and Joseph and Sylvester Hodapp.
