A combined funeral service for Mary Ann and Jane will be held at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Marshalltown.Mary Ann was born March 8, 1917, in Maxwell, Iowa, to Clyde & Mildred (Bennethum) Hopper. A combined funeral service for Mary Ann and Jane will be held at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Marshalltown.Mary Ann was born March 8, 1917, in Maxwell, Iowa, to Clyde & Mildred (Bennethum) Hopper. On November 10, 1945, she married Verle Lawrence Lawler after he had finished his military service. She lived and raised her family on a farm in Union, lowa, until moving in 1974 to Colo, Iowa. There she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.She loved to cook, especially baking homemade bread. Throughout her life, Mary Ann was dedicated to canning & freezing fruits & vegetables out of her gardens. She also made numerous quilts and traveled whenever possible. Those who knew Mary Ann would many times receive surprise gifts of fresh made bread or caramels. She donated many quilts to area hospitals to comfort children involved in emergencies.Those left to remember Mary Ann include six children, Betty (Jeff) Jegenyes, Rose Mary Hicks, Frank (Joyce) Lawler, Karen Riskedahl,
