Her death occurred last Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after suffering for the past two months with paralysis. They were also in the 1855 Morris Co., NJ state census. George was a brother of my great grandfather Augustus De Forest. My great grandparents were from Morris Co., NJ where they married in 1868 after the Civil War, then moved to Cedar Co., IA by the 1870 census. Gus & Tillie were listed in that census not far from Nicholas & Catherine Kelch. I think George & Mary had already moved to Cedar Co., IA, which is probably why Gus & Tillie moved there. George & Mary named their first two children Augustus and Matilda. I know George & Gus were still in touch with each other during George's second marriage.
