Description	:	Mary Ann Homan, 59, died Aug. 10 in Modesto, Calif. She was born Feb. 24, 1948 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Goldie (Page) Koppa and Murrel Koppa of Hiattville. She lived in the Manteca and Tracy, Calif., areas for the past two years. Prior to that, she resided in Discovery Bay for 10 years and Livermore for 18 years. She is survived by her children Susan Rowan of Manteca, Les and Tammy Homan of Brentwood, Dennis and Melinda Homan of Ely, Nev., and David and Irene Homan of Ely, Nev,; grandchildren Josh Rowan and Madison Rowan of Manteca, Justin Homan, Jessica Homan of Brentwood, Randy Homan, Kaitlin Homan, David Homan, Brandon Homan. She is also survived by her mother and siblings Bill Koppa of Manhattan, Kan., Jack Koppa of Emporia, Kan., Donnie and Helen Koppa of Topeka, Kan, Jim and Cheryl Koppa of Fort Scott, Kan., and Roger Koppa of Sumter, S. C., and her mother-in-law Hattie Homan of Uniontown, Kan. She was preceded in death by her father one brother Bobby and one sister Thelma Koppa. In Mary's younger years she worked on her family's farm raising animals and tending the land with her seven siblings and parents. At 18 years old she married her true love Les and they were blessed with four children. While raising her children and tending her home Mary owned and operated her own air conditioning business "TKC A/C" for several years, she also ran a day care out of her home while her children were growing up. She built a very strong family foundation for her children and was always supportive in everything they did. She was involved in cub scouts as a leader, campfire girls and coaching soccer. Mary was an adventurous lady; she loved flying with her husband in their home built Star Duster Airplane, often flying back east. She loved balloon rides, deep sea fishing, camping and four-wheeling. She had a passion for Saint Bernards and watching football. She was an avid collector of frogs, cookie jars, wind chimes and at Christmas time she had gorgeous collection of many different types of nativity scenes. Mary's home was always open to her family and friends. She was a great caretaker and took pride in cooking for everyone, "no one left her home hungry." Mary will be remembered as an outgoing woman who was very determined in life always cherishing every moment that was spent with family and close friends. She will be deeply missed. Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, Calif. Services are Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, Burial is at East Union Cemetery, Union Road, Manteca. Remembrances can be sent to Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
