MARY FRANK PIONEER RESIDENT DIED AT AGE OF 88 YEARS MOTHER OF ATTORNY THOMAS FRANK, WHO HAD LIVED IN ST. PARIS FOR MANY YEARS The death of Mrs. Mary Frank, which occured at the home of her son, Attorney Thos. J. Frank, on North Main street, Urbana, Tuesday, removed a pioneer resident of the county. She had been ill for some time, and finally succumbed to the infirmities of old age. She was 88 years of age, and came to Champaign county with her parents, Thomas Yarley and Nancy leedom, from Pennsylvania, when about 8 years of age. She settled with her parents in St. Paris when it was a frontier village, and was there married to James H. Frank, who died a few years later. Thos. J. Frank, with whom she has lived for the past 30 years, is the only living child; a daughter, Sarah Ellen, having died at the age of 14 years. She was a sister of the later John S. Leedom of Urbana. The funeral services will be held at the Reformed church in St. Paris, of which she had been an active member for half a century, until her age and failing health prevented. Rev. Hart officiating, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery at that place. St. Paris News - Dispatch September 15, 1910 AGED LADY PASSES AWAY Mrs. Mary Frank died Tuesday at the home of her son, Atty. T. J. Frank, of Urbana, at the advanced age of 88 years. With her parents, Thomas Yarley and Nancy Leedom she emigrated from Pennsylvania to Ohio and settled near St. Paris. She witnessed the passing of the great forests of Ohio, in primeval days, and their transformation into fertile fields and thriving towns and cities. For thirty years she made her home with her son, at whose residence she died. The funeral services will be held at the Reformed Church, in St. Paris on Friday afternoon, Sept. 16 at 2 o'clock. Rev. Hart will preach the funeral sermon. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
