Description	:	Funeral services for Mary Ann Walizer, age 63, of Bottineau and Minot, were held on Monday at 4:00 P.M. in Christ Lutheran Church of Minot. Burial was at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in the Lebanon Cemetery at Langdon. Officiating at the service was the Reverend Dave Maxfield. Allen Drege was the organist and the soloist was Rick Stevens. The congregation sang selected hymns. The casket bearers were Lynn Domers, Mike Hoff, Mike Bunce, Devan Webster, Al Lund and Derik Gilbertson. Mary Ann Louise Walizer, a daughter of Gustav and Ruby (Uhrich) Greening, was born on February 12, 1946 at Langdon. She was reared near Langdon and graduated from Langdon High School. She then attended Valley City State College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree she began teaching at Langdon. She then moved to Colorado for a short time before returning to North Dakota and settling in Minot. Mary Ann continued on to earn her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development and another Master’s Degree in Curriculum. Mary Ann was a teacher at the Minot Public School systems. On March 27, 1986, she was married to Wally Walizer at Minot. She retired from teaching in 2006. For the past seven years, Mary Ann had been teaching College course online. Mary Ann enjoyed quilting, gardening, her grandchildren, traveling and family vacations. She was a lifetime member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Mary Ann was also the State President and Chapter president for the AAUW. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Minot. Mary Ann was very loved and cherished by all of her friends and family. Mary Ann passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009 at a Minot hospital. She is survived by her husband Wally of Minot and Bottineau; son Alexander Greene of Queen Creek, AZ; a daughter, Jessica and her husband Courtney Hill of Minot; grandchildren, Kalen and Logan Hill; step-children, Sherry and her husband Corey Smith of Fosston, MN and Tammy Walizer of Denver, CO; step-grandchild, Cameron Smith; a sister, Eileen Morris of Linton, ND.
