Valentine, died at their home, near Leistville, August 16, aged 64 years, 4 months and 21 days. The deceased was the daughter of Jacob and Maria Moyer, born near Hamburg, Fairfield County, March 25, 1848. She was united in marriage to Solomon S. Valentine, February 25, 1868. This union was blessed with seven children, all of whom, with the father, survive. They are Edward Valentine, of Thatcher; Mrs. E. A. Flannigan, of Laurelville; Mrs. Reuben Hall and Mrs. Simon Harel, of Meade; Harley, Arthur and Roy Valentine, at home. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Moyer, of Kansas, and three sisters, Mrs. David Dresbach, of Illinois, Mrs. Rachael McCane, of Lancaster, and Mrs. Ella Wolfe, of Tarlton, and a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends. The husband lost a kind and patient wife and the children a loving and affectionate mother. For the past three years, her suffering has been intense, yet she bore it with patience in expressing her desire and readiness to go home and be at rest. She has been a member of the German Lutheran Church, at Stoutsville, for forty years, and remainded faithful until death. The funeral was held at Stoutsville Monday afternoon, Rev. J. A. Mrs. Valentine was born in Tarlton, March 25, 1848, and was a daughter of Jacob and Maria Moyer. She married Solomon S. Valentine February 25, 1868, and is survived by her husband and seven children. The children are: Edward Valentine, of Leistville; Mrs. Reuben Hall, of Meade; Harley and Arthur Valentine, at home; Mrs. Sarah Flannigan, of Laurelville; Mrs. Simon Harrel and Roy Valentine, of Leistville. Of her immediate family, there are living three sisters: Mrs. Sarah Dresbach, of Blue Mound, Illinois; Mrs. James Wolf, of Tarlton, and Mrs. Rachel McCabe, of Lancaster. The funeral was held Monday. The cortege left the house at one o'clock and the services were held at the Reformed Lutheran Church in Stoutsville. Rev. J. M. Wenrich, of Wapakoneta, assisted by Rev. Schofer, of the Lutheran Church, officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers were her nephews, William, Frank and Allen Valentine, Earl Wolf, Will McCabe and Charles Moyer. Before her death, Mrs. Valentine chose her funeral text from the second and third verses in the fourteenth chapter of St. John."
