Theirs was a happy union till death entered their home, but Mary is happy now in her heavenly home, with angel voices singing in that summer-land of song, and will welcome, by and by, the friends who now weep and mourn but sorrow not as those who have no hope. "She was converted and joined the M. E. church when twelve years of age; about three years ago she united with the Dayton W. M. church; was organist, teacher of a class in Sabbath-school and treasurer of the missionary society. Mary was a friend to all, pleasant in her home and a happy Christian. "A husband and many friends mourn her death, and the babe two weeks old will never know the mother's love. She said while sick, "If the Lord wants me, I am ready to go. Again I hear the trumpet sound, it sounds so sweet to me." In language like this she could have said: Adieu, adieu, my glittering crown appears in view. All is well, all is well. Text, Mark XIV 8. "Whereas, in the providence of God, he has seen fit to call from earth to heaven, our beloved sister and co-laborer, Mary McLeod, therefore-- "Resolved, That in this dispensation the Missionary Society of the Wesleyan Methodist church has lost an efficient and talented member, and while we deeply mourn our loss of a kind, loving, Christian worker, we bow in submission to the will our heavenly Father, thanking him that her advice and counsels were lent us for a time "Resolved, That in her endeavors to do good we have an example worthy of imitation, for her sympathies were ever aroused, and her heart stirred by the knowledge of others' needs or sorrows. Comfort and relief were ever proffered to the extent of her ability. "Resolved, That we tender to the afflicted husband and friends our heart-felt sympathy in this their great grief, and comment them for consolation to the Savior, who so fully sustained our sister in the trying ordeal of her last hours. "Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be put on record in our Society, a copy furnished the Clarence Sun and Wesleyan Methodist, and copy be sent to the bereaved friends. Carrie L.
