Description : Mary Ann Stapleton married Samuel Oscar Carter in Missouri on 2 May 1877. After their marriage they moved to a small acreage near the train depot.

They had 12 children: Samuel Andrew (died age 10 months), Ed, Minnie (Pierce), Joe, Ben, Tom, Alice (Helme), Dan, Ruby (Johnson), Herman, Glen, and Mary Ann (Chantry).

Samuel died in 1934 at age 75 years. Mary died three years later, in 1937, at the age of 74 years 11 months.
